Video questionnaire results reflection

We took the time to ask people about their opinions on short films and a few questions about our film. Overall we are pleased with the results that we got and think that we managed to cover quite a broad range of people, some students, and some other people within college. If we had more time we would of ideally liked to be able to interview more people including members of the general public. The majority of the people we interviewed we didn't known and have never spoken to before, despite them working within college.

We interviewed people in the age range from 16 to 29, this isn't an overly large age range but all of our interviewees were very different individuals, some were more cooperative and gave us a much more detailed response than others. Overall I feel that we had a satisfying response with the majority of the people we interviewed being open to the idea of watching a drama film even though they wouldn't necessarily choose to watch one as their first choice. Since doing this filming we have done more genre research and learnt that our film would be a good family film and be more likely to appeal to a family audience so interviewing people individually based on their own preferences might not of been the best way to do it, we would have been better getting a group of people together and asking them to make a group decision on the type of films that they would go and watch together.

Our interviewees gave us the impression that drama films have a large and varied target audience as the genre can cover a lot of different scenarios, but would be more likely to appeal to older children and adults, multipul males that we interviewed seemed to think that it would appeal more to a female audience however they were still open to watching drama films. I think that doing this has helped us look at our plot in more detail and help us adapt it to suit a wider target audience, from the responses I feel that the rating of a 12A is one that is going to be appropriate for our film.
