Our Target Audience

Our film is a drama film and from doing re-search into this genre we have found that it is a widely accepted genre of film to watch, this meaning we have the opportunity to have a large target audience. From the research I have done on the internet and from the response from our video questionnaire it is apparent that both males and females are interested in drama films but it appears women and girls are most likely to choose a drama film while males will happily watch one, but it often wouldn't be their first choice or they would go watch one with someone else who has chosen the film.

We are going to try and aim our film at young female teens as we believe it would be a good film to go and see with friends, also to women who want a girly night out with their friends as it is contains a situation easy for people to relate to but as women allow themselves to connect more with the characters of a film than males it will make the film more enjoyable for them. And finally families, as the rating of out film is going to be a 12A meaning that it would be a film enjoyed for all as it wouldn't be too babyish for adults or too grown up to understand for children aged 8+ making it the perfect family film.
