Science Fiction
Science fiction films are usuallu about things that are not likely to happen, or may be possible in the future, for example; space travel, time travel, superpowers etc.
There are also lots of sub-genres that most films are categorised into because science fiction is suc a wide category;
- Military science fiction
- Near-future science fiction
- Sociological science fiction
- Science Fantasy/ Future Fantasy
In 1909 the first british silent, science fiction film was released ‘Airship Destroyer.’ Also known AS ‘The Battle in the Clouds’ and was directed by Walter R.Booth. The film is about an attack on London and how London tries to retaliate. Finaly a foresighted scientist sends up his own airship to destroy the zeppelins (something that did actually happen a few years later.)
